Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Med/Surg Orthopedics night position requiring a ME or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

Position is in the Med/Surg Orthopedics unit of a hospital setting

Night shifts with 4 x 12-hour shifts weekly (7p-7a), totaling 48 hours per week

Covers medical, surgical, and post-surgical patients

Patient care involves IV medication administration, IV therapy, and blood product administration

Required to be available to work every other weekend as needed

The RN is responsible for both direct and indirect patient care throughout the patient stay

Team-focused environment involving collaboration with caregivers and multidisciplinary staff

Expected to participate in the assessment, planning, and reassessment of care plans

Holiday coverage may be required for major holidays observed by the facility

A fifty (50) mile radius rule applies for eligibility

RNs may only work two consecutive 13-week assignments per year at the facility and must take a minimum 26-week break before returning

Requirements

Active ME RN license or compact state RN license required

Current BLS certification is required

At least 1 year of nursing experience preferred

Must not have previous employment at St. Mary's

Competency in the application of restraints and care of patients in restraint or seclusion must be validated

Candidates with actions on license or background check issues will not be considered
