Position: Senior Merchandiser

Location: Auchan International SA, Tirupur, India

We are seeking an experienced Senior Merchandiser with approximately 15 years of sourcing and merchandising expertise. The ideal candidate will be a Graduate in Textile Engineering with proven capability in handling a diverse range of products and managing complex supply chains.

Product Expertise

Home Textiles: Cushions, Chair Pads, Carpets, Coir & Rubber Mats, Bath Linen, Bed Linen

Hard goods: Ceramic, Stone, Plastic, Metal Products

Stationery & Travel: Paper, Bags, Luggage

Key Responsibilities

Ensure Request for Quotations are sent to the right suppliers, request quotations and sampling.

Negotiate the best terms using cost breakdown techniques.

Organize and lead Buyer/Product Leader meetings with suppliers.

Support the validation of product development steps, working with relevant experts to meet deadlines.

Ensure product, packaging, and labeling conformity.

Verify that order details match negotiated terms and obtain supplier confirmations.

Discuss and validate the critical path, challenging suppliers to reduce production lead times.

Monitor each step of the order follow-up process to ensure accuracy and on-time completion.

Update internal IT tools with all relevant details until delivery date.

Anticipate potential problems and proactively propose solutions.

Conduct regular factory visits to monitor production and strengthen relationships with key production contacts.

Coordinate with suppliers and third parties for product development and inspections.

Ensure on-time shipments, Production follow up and support the finance team with export documentation.

Lead new supplier sourcing initiatives to expand the vendor base.

Visit trade fairs, showrooms, and factories to stay updated on market trends and source innovative product options.

Qualifications

Graduate in Textile Engineering (or equivalent)

Approximately 15 years of experience in sourcing and merchandising across home textiles, hard goods, stationery, and DIY
