Description
Jarc is looking to add Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to our growing team of care providers. Our DSPs are the heart of the organization engaging with and providing direct care to our people served. This position is responsible for all aspects of personal care, daily living, and housekeeping in their assigned home.
A typical shift may include cooking, cleaning, shopping, bathing, dressing, laundry, and other elements of daily living alongside and for our person's served. We look for candidates who have experience in this setting or are open to learning. They should ready to provide care with the utmost respect. DSPs will report to individual Home Managers and District Managers.
Responsibilities:
Provide person's served within assigned house with assistance, companionship, and comfort as needed
Comply with all OCHN and Jarc standards and requirements (more below)
Ensure the care of person's served complies with the standards and requirements of all accrediting, licensing, and contractual bodies.
Drive person's served to/from errands, appointments, or events - in a Jarc vehicle.
Document all daily notes, medications, and other required documentation in an appropriate and timely manner
Communicate appropriately with person's served, staff, and house managers.
Maintain communication around work schedule and hours
Qualifications
Qualifications & Skills
High School Diploma required
Current and valid driver's license
At least 1-2 years' experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
Experience in a home care or hospital setting, preferred
Ability to stay calm in a stressful environment
Excellent written and spoken communication skills
Time-management
Willingness to work with people of different backgrounds, experience level, and abilities
Working at Jarc
All Jarc employees are required to pass a background check, have a negative TB test, and provide a physical.
Additionally, DSPs will be required to have an active CPR/First Aid Certification, Medication Training, and additional trainings required by the state and other entities. These will be provided as part of training.
