Porter Job Description
Position Overview:
The Porter is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, organization, and overall maintenance of the lounge and its facilities. The ideal candidate is hardworking, detail-oriented, and committed to creating a clean and inviting environment for both guests and staff. The Porter plays a key role in the smooth day-to-day operations of the lounge by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and order.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning and Sanitation:
Ensure that all public areas, including lounge floors, restrooms, and entryways, are clean, tidy, and presentable at all times.
Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting in both front-of-house and back-of-house areas.
Clean and sanitize restrooms regularly, ensuring they are fully stocked with supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toiletries.
Waste Management:
Empty trash and recycling bins regularly, ensuring that waste is properly disposed of according to lounge procedures.
Assist in managing waste disposal, ensuring compliance with environmental and health regulations.
Maintenance Assistance:
Assist with basic maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, moving furniture, or reporting any equipment or facility issues to management.
Ensure that storage areas, back-of-house, and supply rooms are kept clean and organized.
Stocking and Supplies:
Monitor stock levels of cleaning supplies and toiletries, informing management of any restocking needs.
Replenish supplies in restrooms, dining areas, and other public spaces as needed.
Support for Operations:
Assist staff with setup and breakdown of events or seating areas when needed, including arranging furniture or setting up service stations.
Provide additional support to the kitchen or bar staff as requested, such as moving stock or handling deliveries.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a porter, janitorial, or maintenance role is preferred but not required.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and organization.
Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, lift heavy items, and stand for extended periods.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
