Job Description Summary
The Events Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, management, and execution of a variety of in-person and virtual executive-level events. These include regional conferences, leadership meetings, community events, golf outings, and other colleague and customer engagements. This role reports to the Event Experience and Execution Leader and collaborates closely with regional, segment, and other event partners within Huntington.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement event strategies and planning cadences aligned with company goals and budgets
Lead a proactive and strategic approach to event planning, communication, and stakeholder engagement, including collaboration with executive leadership, internal regional and business segment partners, and external partners
Manage all aspects of event logistics including site visits, venue sourcing, hotel room blocks, catering, vendor coordination, and attendee registration
Partner with marketing and communications teams to create and execute event materials such as invitations, signage, and other design elements
Deliver engaging attendee experiences across both in-person and virtual formats
Source, negotiate, and manage vendor relationships to ensure seamless event execution
Independently manage multiple projects, ensuring flawless execution and budget adherence
Utilize CVENT to manage events from concept through post-event analysis
Oversee event budgets and financial tracking
Create and maintain detailed project plans with clearly defined roles, responsibilities, and timelines
Coordinate equipment, supplies, and event needs including A/V, furniture, décor, and gifting
Lead and support volunteer coordination for event logistics, including registration, attendee tracking, event materials, and on-site execution

Adapt quickly to changing goals and needs, demonstrating strong problem-solving and flexibility
Travel up to 30% for on-site event support
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or additional experience in Lieu of Education
5+ years experience in meeting and event planning
Other:
Working out of office hours e.g. evenings and weekends for events
Some travel required
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in event management, hospitality, communication, marketing or related field is preferred (or equivalent experiences)
Financial services meeting and event planning experience
Proficiency in CVENT for event creation, sourcing, invitations, registration, and event management
Willingness to work outside of standard office hours, including evenings and weekends
Experience working with executive leadership teams
Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
Ability to problem-solve in real time and manage high-pressure situations
Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality execution
Strong budgeting and financial management capabilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications
