Job Title: Laundry Staff

Department: Housekeeping

Reports To: Housekeeping Supervisor

Summary:

The primary purpose of this position is to make sure the facility and residents have clean clothes and linens.

Occupational Skills:

· Good communication skills

· Good organizational skills

· Ability to exercise good judgement and tact in dealing with residents, resident families, and staff members

· Ability to lift up to 65lbs.

· Walking, Reaching, Stooping, Squatting, Standing, Turning, Pivoting and Bending as needed.

· Must be at least 18 years of age.

· Flexibility in work schedule

· Courteous to residents, resident families, visitors and other staff members.

Education, Training and Experience Requirements:

· Highschool or General Education Diploma (GED)

· Previous laundry experience preferred

Essential Job Duties:

· Wash all dirty linen and residents’ personal clothes, including beauty shop towels, soiled mops and rags from the kitchen.

· Dry and fold all laundry

· Transport clean linen throughout the day as needed

· Deliver residents’ personal laundry and collect hangers

· Clean and organize the laundry area as needed

· Lint traps from dryers are to be cleaned out at the end of the shift and documented

· Sweep and mop the laundry area floors as needed

· Take out trash as needed

· Ensure that linen or laundry matches washer settings

· Practice infectious control at all times

· Attend mandatory in-service meetings
