Greenwich, CT Public Schools seeks a dynamic leader to join one of the nation's premier K-12 districts as Assistant Chief Officer of Curriculum & Leadership, a position that will report to and execute the following duties at the direction of the Chief Officer of Curriculum & Leadership. Review of applications will begin on Friday, February 28, 2025, at 12:00 noon.
Curriculum Development & Oversight:
Review and update curriculum in Schoology to align with educational standards and Greenwich Public Schools goals
Manage and collaborate with curriculum coordinators to introduce innovative instructional materials and resources
Oversee the textbook adoption process related to new curriculum programs Instructional Leadership:
Provide guidance to school leaders and teachers on best teaching practices
Lead on the development and implementation of the professional learning program and calendars for the district
Lead on the analysis of instructional data to identify areas for improvement in teaching practices Assessment, Data Analysis, and Stakeholder Engagement:
Analyze student performance data to inform public presentations
Present, with the Chief Officer of Curriculum & Leadership, achievement data to stakeholders, including the Board of Education, parents, and community members
Engage with school principals, teachers, and other staff to foster a shared vision for academic success.
Address parent and community concerns regarding academic programs and student performance. Teacher Evaluation and Support:
Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback to building administrators and teachers.
Support teachers in meeting instructional goals and addressing performance gaps.
Guide the Professional Development & Evaluation Committee (PDEC) under the direction of the Chief Officer of Curriculum & Leadership. Budgeting & Resource Allocation:
Support the Chief Officer of Curriculum & Leadership in the development and management of the Title I, II, and IV budgets for academic programs and resources..
Allocate operating and grant funds effectively to support instructional goals.
Collaborate with other grant managers and external partners such as the Greenwich Alliance to secure additional funding for academic initiatives. Strategic Planning and Goal Setting:
Lead with the Chief Officer oversight of the strategic planning efforts to support the annual School Improvement Plans Employee Onboarding and Orientation:
Conduct orientation sessions to familiarize new employees with company culture and policies.
Coordinate mentorship or buddy programs for new hires. Curriculum Management:
Oversee specific content areas at the direction of the Chief Officer of Curriculum & Leadership. Bullying Complaints Management:
Serve as the primary coordinator for all bullying investigations, ensuring each case is handled promptly and thoroughly, documentation is correct, and involvement of Human Resources when necessary.
Keep record of each bullying incident, documented findings, actions taken, and outcomes.
Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal regulations regarding bullying incidents and reporting requirements.
Identify patterns or recurring issues within investigations to inform preventative strategies and interventions.
Offer support and guidance to school staff on effective documentation practices and procedures for handling bullying investigations and reports. District Committee Oversight:
Lead the Safe School and School Climate Committee consistent with Greenwich Public Schools Policy 5131 & Regulation 6142.101R. Additional Duties:
As assigned by the Chief Officer of Curriculum & Leadership.
May be assigned to District and/or organizational committees as appropriate. Travel Requirements:
Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required. Qualifications Profile:
Certification/License:
CT State Certification, or certifiability, in Intermediate Administration or Supervision (#092), required
Driver's license required Education:
Experience as a supervisor strongly preferred.
Experience in K-12 educational environment is preferred but not required. Terms of Employment and Work Schedule:
Standard administrator work schedule including attendance at Board meetings and other meetings as needed.
Carries out his/her professional responsibilities to the extent required by the operational programs of the Greenwich Board of Education.
