Payroll Processing Associate
Pay Rate/Range: $18.80
Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Location: Columbus, OH
Duration: 6 months
Job Summary
The Payroll Processing Associate is responsible for supporting payroll operations by processing manual check requests, ensuring accurate employee payments, and communicating with internal and external contacts. This role requires confidentiality, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility is required, as some weekends, holidays, and variable schedules may be necessary based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Process payroll data using our systems (training provided).
Work within Time and Labor and other internal web-based platforms.
Maintain confidentiality of payroll data while working in a team environment.
Interpret and analyze payroll statements from management regarding employee pay issues.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve payroll inquiries.
Utilize 10-key calculator and keyboarding skills with accuracy and speed.
Support payroll processing for both non-union and union wage plans (training provided).
Adjust to varying schedules, including weekends, holidays, and overtime, as needed.
Demonstrate high energy, dependability, and a positive, adaptable attitude.
Perform additional payroll-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Technical Skills:
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Access; primarily for data entry).
Strong 10-key and typing skills with minimal errors.
Experience:
Payroll experience preferred but not required (training provided).
Soft Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, urgent environment.
Flexibility to work outside scheduled shifts as business needs require.
