Job Summary

As an Assistant Project Manager with New Leaf Builders, you will support all activities associated with vendor management, scheduling, and quality control. The Assistant Project Manager will aid and assist the Project Manager in giving direction for all aspects of construction, including but not limited to project management, purchasing, field operations, environmental compliance, and safety. The Assistant Project Manager is a position intended for career growth and with training will be expected to learn and retain certain knowledge that is not only relevant to proper and effective residential construction but also specific to the growth and operational success of New Leaf Builders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Support day to day construction operations to ensure homes are built of high quality, within budgets, complete and within scheduled timeframes.

Responsible for adherence to all construction field policies and procedures both on and off-site, maintaining the strong reputation of New Leaf Builders.

Aid in onsite leadership, direction, and guidance in construction procedures, building codes, scheduling, and national safety requirements.

Support field operations to ensure homes are built 100% complete to meet New Leaf quality standards.

Daily onsite assistance is required to manage quality, schedules, and policy enforcement.

Help procure trade partners and continue to foster relationships of all trades and vendors responsible for the construction of homes. Assist in the bidding process, negotiations, and selection of trades. Responsible for payment approvals to ensure the success and growth of our trade partners.

Assist in the reporting and maintenance of documents and performance according to the established plans.

Aid in monitoring and preventing significant cost and schedule impacts.

Responsible for achieving excellent customer satisfaction by promoting an atmosphere of accountability that focuses on exceptional quality and customer service.

Follow New Leaf Builders' processes and procedures to ensure construction of the most cost-effective, high-quality product. Provide insight and recommendations to reduce costs and increase efficiency.

Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Highschool Diploma or equivalent required.

Two or more years of professional experience or education in construction. A specific focus on residential projects is preferred.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven negotiation skills.

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Must have a vehicle and a valid driver's license.

Demonstrated problem-solving skills with an ability to overcome obstacles as an individual and with group coordination.

Effective time management skills and can thrive in a team environment.

Proficient with technology and understanding of Microsoft Office applications & email.

Have a strong operational focus, analytical ability, and good judgment with high ethical standards.

Ability to read, count and write English to complete all necessary documentation.

Ability to read plans, tape measure and use other small tools as necessary to the position.

Ability to communicate with all persons effectively and courteously.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to work up to 10 hours per day in a fast-paced environment. Work hours/days may vary to oversee operations.

Ability to endure regular exposure to outside weather conditions and elements.

Ability to climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, reach, etc.

Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Ability to operate a motor vehicle and/or other equipment necessary to the position.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.

Some travel may be required.
