Posting Summary Job Title Child Welfare Fellowship Assistant Director (Contractual) Division Divison of Academic Affairs Department Dean Social Work Job Effective Date 10/15/2025 Job End Date 06/30/2026 Work Status Full Time Position Category Contractual FLSA Exempt Annual Salary 65,000 Pays 26 Percentage Amount 100 Fund Source Federal/Grant Requisition Reason Vacancy Job Duties Duties & Responsibilities: * Under guidelines of the Child Welfare Fellowship grant under which Morgan State University operates as a subcontractor to the State of Maryland Department of Human Resources(DHR) through the University of Maryland School of Social Work, and the service requirements of the Baltimore City Department of Social Services(BCDSS), Morgan State University will employ a MSW/Licensed Graduate Social Worker certified by Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners level experienced child welfare field instructor as Assistant Director of the Child Welfare Fellowship Fellowship Program.

* The incumbent will design the field instruction curriculum as well as manage, train, and supervise Morgan State University BSW/MSW student interns during their field placement in the BCDSS Permanency Division at the training unit located at 3007 E.

Biddle Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21213.

* The incumbent consults on the maintenance and development of new training initiatives and projects.

* Oversees and develops, where necessary, all Child Welfare Fellowship clinical curriculum; facilitates Clinical Group Supervision to enhance student knowledge and skills as it relates to clinical practice in Child Welfare.

* Foster relationships with interagency contacts for practicum experiences and coordinates and performs quarterly research in search of new evidence-based practices in public Child Welfare, trains Task Supervisors to provide enhanced field experience for graduate students, and coordinates communication to maintain updated information on student progress.

Requested Minimum Qualifications Education * A Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited college or university is required.

* A Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) certified by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners is required.

Experience Two (2) years of post-graduate social work experience as a practitioner in public child welfare.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities The candidate must possess: * The ability to work in a team * Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 * Efficiency in executing directives Ability to supervise with MSW students, design field instruction curricula for MSW students, and appropriately represent Morgan State University School of Social Work Other Preferences for Consideration Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: * Knowledge of the principles, practices, and ethics of professional social work; * Knowledge of human growth and development; * Knowledge of the emotional, social, economic, and physical needs of children and adults; * Knowledge of individual and group behavior; * Knowledge of the social implications of various diseases or disabilities; * Skill in using computer applications such as email, word processing, and database applications; * Ability to provide counseling to customers and treat sensitive information confidentially and discreetly; * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff members, other agencies, institutions, and the general public; * Ability to plan, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate the work of licensed social workers and caseworkers.
