As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Center Lab Manager/Instructor to join our team and drive our relationships with hyperscale clients to new heights.

Salary: $125k/yr + 10% annual bonus

Hours: 8am-5pm (Monday - Friday)

Location: Houston, TX (hybrid 80/20)

Position Overview:

The Data Center Lab Manager/Instructor is the driving force behind a state-of-the-art training facility, empowering the next generation of critical facilities technicians with advanced, hands-on expertise in data center operations and cutting-edge liquid cooling technologies. In this dynamic role, you will orchestrate immersive learning experiences that blend rigorous technical instruction with real-world application-transforming raw talent into elite technicians ready to tackle the demands of high-availability environments.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the Data Center Training Lab

Oversee daily operation, management, and maintenance of the lab's physical and IT infrastructure, including servers, networking, and cooling systems.

Ensure lab equipment and environments are safe, compliant, and effectively support various training modules.

Track and maintain inventories, supplies, and equipment calibration schedules.

Develop and Deliver Training Programs

Create and deliver instructional content focused on standard data center operations, hardware installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Design and conduct hands-on training for liquid cooling technologies, including direct-to-chip and immersion cooling.

Teach facility systems monitoring, incident response, and preventive maintenance protocols.

Ensure lessons incorporate real-world scenarios and current best practices.

Technical Expertise & Mentorship

Lead and mentor trainees-set learning objectives, assess progress, and provide feedback to support technical growth.

Foster a collaborative, safety-focused learning environment.

Continuous Improvement

Integrate new technologies, standards, and tools as data center and cooling solutions evolve.

Update training materials based on advances in liquid cooling and other critical infrastructure areas.

Solicit feedback and continuously enhance lab processes and course offerings.

Compliance and Quality Control

Ensure training and lab operations adhere to industry regulations, safety standards, and facility policies.

Maintain accurate training records, instructional documentation, and incident logs.

Monitor lab conditions (temperature, humidity, airflow) and the performance of liquid cooling systems.

Qualifications

Must be based in Houston Texas

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering, IT, or a related technical field.

2-3 years of experience in data center operations and technical instruction.

Knowledge of liquid cooling technologies and principles.

Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Proficiency with troubleshooting, facility system monitoring, and safety protocols.

Ability to design and deliver effective training materials and hands-on lessons.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40lbs.

Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment

Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments

Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment related tasks

Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly

Ability to move quickly and efficiently withing various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.

Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors

Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses

Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables

Ability to work in environments with a wide variety temperature inside a facility

Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow

Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection

Possession of a valid driver's license for work-related travel, as required
