Experience: 2+ years of recent dedicated Cardiac ICU/CCU/CVICU experience required

License: VA RN License/Compact License

Certifications: BLS, ACLS

Must-Have:

Recent experience/competency with VV/VA ECMO, IABP, TTM/Arctic Sun, Impella, CRRT, and PA Catheter Guided Therapy

Strong experience with all advanced therapy modalities

Ability to read and interpret EKG rhythm strips

Experience managing and titrating Cardiac/Vasoactive Drips

Description:

Candidates must have worked in a dedicated CVICU or CICU.

Common types of patients and diagnoses include Post Op CABG, Heart and Lung Transplant, Cardiogenic Shock, Advanced HF Management, Cardiac Arrhythmia, Lysis, Post IR/PCI Procedures, and TEVAR.

Weekend requirement is every other weekend.

Holidays include one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year).

A holiday includes the day before, the day of, and the day after the listed holidays.

Floating will primarily be between CICU and CVICU.

Candidates may also float to other ICUs, including Stepdown, Progressive Care, IMC, and Tele Units as needed.

The unit has 24 beds with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 in CVICU and 1:3 in Stepdown.

EMR used is Epic.

Scrub colors are navy blue pants and solid navy blue tops or solid white.

Jackets must be solid navy blue or solid white.

Floor orientation is two shifts.

Weekend expectations are four weekends in six weeks, at least, but as needed.

There are no on-call expectations.

Holiday expectations include one major and one minor holiday.

Epic access is needed.
