Experience: 2+ years of recent dedicated Cardiac ICU/CCU/CVICU experience is required.

License: VA RN License/Compact License

Certifications: BLS, ACLS

Must-Have:

- Recent experience with VV/VA ECMO, IABP, TTM/Arctic Sun, Impella, CRRT, and PA Catheter Guided Therapy.

- Strong experience with advanced therapy modalities.

- Ability to read and interpret EKG rhythm strips.

- Experience managing and titrating Cardiac/Vasoactive Drips.

Description:

The Registered Nurse will provide care in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit.

The unit consists of 24 beds.

Patient ratios are 1:1 or 1:2, with a stepdown ratio of 1:3.

Common types of patients include post-op CABG, heart and lung transplant, cardiogenic shock, advanced heart failure management, cardiac arrhythmia, lysis, post-interventional radiology/procedural interventions, and TEVAR.

The position requires a weekend commitment of every other weekend.

Holidays include one major winter holiday, which encompasses the day before, the day of, and the day after the holiday.

The general float requirement includes primary rotation between intensive care units, with the potential to float to other critical care areas as needed.

The electronic medical record system used is Epic.

Scrub attire includes navy blue pants and solid navy blue tops or solid white jackets.

Orientation will include two shifts.

Weekends and holidays are expected, with a minimum of one major and one minor holiday each year.

Floating is expected, with no more than three patients assigned when floating to other units.
