Structural Designer

Responsibilities

Utilizing ShipConstructor to develop Structural 3D models based on Functional Drawings and/or redlines associated with change paper, develop 3D Foundations for equipment, develop Structural Assembly Drawings for Primary Structure and Foundations. Preparing accurate and detailed designs, free form surface models and/or drawings based on concept sketches, photographs, or clearly stated functional requirements or appearances.

Basic Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.

3+ years of experience with Structural Design, 3D Modeling and 2D Drawing development.

Proficient in AutoCAD.

Experience working in the shipbuilding industry.

Demonstrated proficiency of drafting methods, procedures and techniques.

Must be able to work some overtime as required.

Strong MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint Skills Required.

Must be able to travel and work overtime as required.

Preferred Qualifications

Structural Design experience on Naval and/or commercial Shipbuilding programs.

Experience with ShipConstructor.

Developing 3D models and 2D Detail Drawing Extractions in ShipConstructor.

Experience with PDF Editing Programs (Bluebeam Preferred).

Knowledge of standards and regulatory body requirements.

Knowledge of Shipyard Production/Fabrication practices.

Knowledge of Welding and associated symbols.
