Job Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse

Profession: RN

Shift: 12 hours

Hours per Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM

Experience: 2+ years of recent dedicated Cardiac ICU/CCU/CVICU experience required. Must have experience in a dedicated CVICU/CICU.

License: VA RN License or Compact License required.

Certifications: BLS, ACLS required.

Must-Have: Must have recent competency in VV/VA ECMO, IABP (Intra Aortic Balloon Pumps), TTM/Arctic Sun, Impella, CRRT, PA Catheter Guided Therapy.

Description:

Must be able to read and interpret EKG rhythm strips.

Must manage and titrate cardiac/vasoactive drips.

Common types of patients include Post Op CABG, Heart and Lung Transplant, Cardiogenic Shock, Advanced HF Management, Cardiac Arrhythmia, Post IR/PCI Procedures, and TEVAR.

Weekend requirements include every other weekend.

Holidays include one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's).

A holiday includes the day before, day of, and day after the listed holidays.

Floating will primarily occur between CICU and CVICU but may include floating to other ICUs as needed.

Patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:1 or 1:2, with stepdown at 1:3.

Experience with EMR systems, specifically Epic, is needed.

Scrubs required are navy blue pants and solid navy-blue tops or solid white jackets.

Floor orientation will consist of two shifts.

On-call expectations do not apply for this role.
