Position Summary Information

Duties

The Transfer Advisor is a representative of Athens State University with the primary duties to recruit and support prospective students through the enrollment process and to develop comprehensive marketing and communication strategies for admissions to attract and admit prospective students. This position will provide information about the university, its programs and admissions criteria and assist with a smooth matriculation to Athens State University through communication, marketing, and recruiting efforts. The Transfer Advisor must be a strategic thinker with strong communication skills and deep understanding of digital and traditional prospective student communication and marketing methods; they will enhance the University's visibility, engagement with prospective students, and support the overall Admission goals. They will be required to have flexible hours to include nights and weekends with up to 75% travel. Must attend transfer programs, recruiting events and make market visits as directed. This position will also provide processing support for Enrollment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Promote Athens State University to prospective applicants

Represent Athens State University at community and technical colleges, high schools, corporate events, festivals, college fairs, conventions, conferences and other venues

Disseminate Athens State University Program information to potential students

Assist students with the application process

Support Admission functions and processing

Track student contacts through the first enrollment process

Meet annual recruitment goals as established by the Director of Admissions

Develop, implement, and manage integrated communication and marketing plans to support recruitment and admissions goals

Develop communication content for CRM platform, including emails, texts, campaigns, infographics, etc.

Utilize CRM tools to track prospective student engagement and manage communication flows

Create content for recruiting events, promotional items, digital screens, and website

Collaborate with the admissions team to ensure alignment of marketing strategies with recruitment objectives

Manage and approve all Admissions staff marketing, recruiting, and promotional content/designs

Coordinate Admissions website updates

Monitor and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns, using data to inform strategy and improve outcomes

Create compelling and persuasive marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, presentations, and newsletters

Manage the development and distribution of admissions-related communications.

Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing work scope and tasks based on need.

Actively work towards building cooperative and collaborative relationships with peers

and internal faculty and staff

Maintain "open door" to internal and external customers

Identify opportunities for improvements to work practices and offer viable solutions for implementation

Proactively engage in problem solving related to tasks in this position with internal and external people

Routinely practice self-monitoring by assessing self to make improvements or take corrective action to improve performance

Complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:•

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution

Excellent organizational skills

Must have the maturity and adaptability to be team oriented and yet able to work independently with minimal supervision

Must be willing and able to travel by auto to perform university recruitment business

Must be eligible to meet and maintain auto insurance requirements of the University

Ability to communicate effectively with others

Recruiting and/or sales experience

Microsoft Applications experience

Valid Driver's License

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:

Knowledgeable of Athens State University Degree programs

Transfer and graduate student recruiting experience

Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution

Experience with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software program

Experience with Social Media marketing

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position such as sitting and/or standing for up to 75% of the time

Must be able to work flexible hours to include nights and weekends and up to 75% travel time

Must be able to move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions

Frequently communicates with current and prospective students for recruiting and enrollment needs

Frequently uses hands/fingers to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery

Frequently operates a motor vehicle to attend transfer programs, recruiting events, and market visits as directed

May occasionally work in outdoor weather conditions

Located in historic Athens, Alabama, Athens State University offers junior and senior-level coursework to community college graduates and transfer students holding sufficient credits from other institutions. Approximately 3,000 students each semester have selected Athens State because of its neighborly environment where over 50 majors and degree programs are offered, with courses taught by a supportive and exceptional faculty. Approximately 95% of the students are enrolled in at least one online course. The typical student is a working adult who commutes.
