At IAP LLC, the Shipping Coordinator / Scanner is responsible for assisting supervisor with load line activity and organizing and lead small groups of employees for any assigned task.
Essential Duties:
Ensure that vehicle location procedures are completed in a timely and organized manner on an ongoing basis.
Organize and lead small groups of employees to work campaigns or consolidations.
Troubleshoot problems that may arise with the account as instructed by the Field Supervisor.
Perform final inspection in Load Lines on allocated vehicles.
Be familiar with specific procedures for handling the account so that work assignments can be made in the absence of the Field Supervisor.
Serve as a role model to other employees in both work performance and adherence to policies and procedures.
Promote the goal of safety and the prevention of on-the-job accidents resulting in injury to employees and property.
Ensure a spotter is present when backing up vehicles.
Maintain a safe working environment and follow all policies and procedures regarding safety.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Shifts:
A Shift Monday - Friday 7:00am - 4:00pm
C Shift: Monday - Thursday 4:30pm - 1:00am, Friday 3:30pm - 12:00am
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED OR 1+ year of experience with no more than 2 employers
Valid US Driver's License
Obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC Badge) issued by the department of Homeland Security
Trained to work with allocation reports, monronies, work labels, ship purification and marine surveys.
Drive both automatic and straight shift vehicles.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using handheld scanning devices.
Must have demonstrated commitment to safety.
Ability to effectively communicate, understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
Must possess problem-solving abilities and be detail oriented
Physical Working Attributes:
Repeatedly get in and out of a vehicle during the shift and step up approximately 18 inches into an open van.
Work in outdoor elements including heat, cold, rain, insects and other conditions which may exist from time to time.
Work at heights of approximately 15 feet.
