CIVIC CENTER ATTENDANT

DEFINITION
To provide general support before, during, and after events as needed; to maintain common areas throughout events; and perform a variety of tasks directed by the Civic Center Manager.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives direction from the Civic Center Manager.
EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES--Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Essential duties and responsibilities:
. Greet and interact professionally with guests, vendors, and event staff.
. Maintain common areas throughout the event (e.g., bathrooms, reception spaces, entryways.
Provide general support before, during, and after events as needed.
. Monitor the venue during events to ensure cleanliness, order, and safety.
. Responsible for following all safety regulations and policies established by the City of Wharton and the Civic Center Department.
. Provide assistance to individuals using the Civic Center facilities; answer questions, and ensure that facility users receive efficient services.
Communicate promptly with the Civic Center Manager if issues develop.
Training:
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
Bilingual (English/Spanish preferred)- not required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
