Summary: Coordinate activities involved with the procurement and services such as raw materials, components, equipment, tools, parts and supplies for BASX at favorable costs. Obtain quotes, generate and processes requisition, and maintain records. Investigate sources of supply and complete purchases through contractual arrangements to affect costs savings.
Purchase materials or other goods and / or coordinate activities involved with procuring goods and services necessary for BASX.
Develop and maintain resources for assigned standard items.
Review requisitions.
Determine method of procurement, such as direct purchase or bid.
Create RFQs and obtain quotes from vendors.
Confer with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
Determine terms and conditions with vendors.
Expedite purchase orders and inform departments of expected delivery date.
Contact vendors to find out status of order or backorder.
Ensure that materials, equipment, and supplies are ordered and delivered in a timely manner.
Review bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
Work in conjunction with engineering and sales to source new products.
Maintain procurement record, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with Receiving or Quality Control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
Contact vendors with discrepancies with quantity and quality.
Arrange for return and replacement of rejected materials.
Expedite delivery of goods.
Interface with all departments.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree
Minimum of 3-5years of progressive purchasing experience (manufacturing preferred).
Microsoft Office Applications.
SAPexperience preferred, but not required.
Familiarity with manufacturing environments.
Strong experience in meeting deadlines and customer requests.
Understand and promote the manufacturing process and exhibit the ability to meet schedules.
Detailed oriented and organized.
Possess ability to take ownership and follow projects through to completion.
Strongcommunication skills and interact well with others.
Work well under pressure and take directives.
