Weekend Family Assistant

Position: Part Time Weekend Family Assistant

Location: Waccabuc, NY

Schedule: Saturdays & Sundays (hours will vary, never more than 8/day; must have flexibility)

Salary: $30 - $35/hour DOE

Overview:

A busy, warm family is seeking a reliable and proactive Weekend Family Assistant to support them when they are home on Saturdays and Sundays. The role is a true right-hand/helper position, ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of childcare (2 children ages 3 and 1), light housekeeping, and general household support. The family is looking for someone who can step in and allow the parents some downtime on the weekends by keeping things running smoothly around the home.

Schedule Details:

The family is flexible and open to different scheduling configurations. Examples of potential shifts include:

Sat/Sun: 10am-3pm

Sat: 3-7pm, Sun: 12-6pm (or vice versa)

Sat: 10am-4pm, Sun: 4-8pm

The exact hours will vary depending on family needs each weekend, so schedule flexibility is a must.

Responsibilities include:

Assisting with childcare (playing with and supervising children)

Light housekeeping (tidying common areas, dishes, laundry, organizing)

Running local errands (groceries, dry cleaning, etc.)

Light meal prep or helping clean up after meals

General household support as needed

Ideal Candidate:

Comfortable around children and willing to engage with them

Happy to pitch in wherever needed

Reliable, organized, and self-directed

Flexible with weekend hours

Previous experience in a family assistant, nanny, or housekeeping role is a plus
