R&D Lab Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Lab Specialist to join our small, collaborative team. This role will support testing and evaluation of products prior to launch, ensuring quality, stability, and functionality across packaging and formula performance. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, eager to learn, and thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on lab environment.

Key Responsibilities

Pull and return samples to environmental chambers and monitor temperature chart recorders weekly.

Open daily mail deliveries, organize incoming samples on staging shelves, and manage retain storage.

Assist with preparing samples for testing by labeling, bin organization, pump priming, and weight loss measurements.

Prepare samples for package testing, including filling and crimping tubes, applying caps/pumps, and labeling.

Support execution of packaging tests such as torque, vacuum leakage, plastic bottle drop, transit, opening and compression force, label adhesion, and product resistance.

Perform lab upkeep, including clean-up, trash disposal, and recycling.

Purge outdated sample retains to maintain storage organization.

Enter data into SAP, update Excel trackers, and support reporting templates.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Prior laboratory experience handling and evaluating samples is strongly preferred.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; SAP knowledge a plus.

Strong communication and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Self-motivated, curious, and eager to take initiative.
