We are seeking a highly motivated R&D Assistant Manager to lead the end-to-end development of new food products. In this role, you will be instrumental
Responsibilities
Implement research program and business strategies
Develops new product formulation, finished product specifications, marketing specifications, and raw material specifications.
Develops and implements new test procedures for new products and new raw materials.
Initiates change requests on Finished product specifications, formula specifications, marketing specifications, and raw materials specifications.
Conducts technological transfer from the PDI laboratory scale to commercial scale through the project management program of the speed to market team, and participates
In the new product commercial production trial run with the speed to the market team
Plans and conducts shelf-life tests for new products.
Records the results of all tests and analyses, prepares and submits the report as directed.
Maintain up-to-date awareness of external research and development facilities and resources.
Ensures compliance with relevant government regulations.
Assigns a subordinate level in the organisational chart to be a deputy to handle his/her duties and responsibilities in case of absence.
Maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of the office, laboratory and facilities.
Promotes cost reduction and establishes a quality, safety, and standard system (ISO 14001, FSSC 22000).
SAP: BOM, Purchasing request, Material request.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Food Science & Technology, Food Engineering, or a closely related field.
A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Product Development or R&D within the food manufacturing industry.
Proven track record in new product development (NPD) from concept to launch, including formulation, ingredient functionality, and scale-up.
Solid understanding of food safety and quality systems (e.g., HACCP, GMP). Direct experience with FSSC 22000 is essential; knowledge of ISO 14001 is a strong plus.
Demonstrable experience in creating and managing product specifications (finished product, raw material, marketing).
Practical experience conducting shelf-life studies and plant trial runs.
Systems Proficiency: Hands-on experience with SAP for creating Bills of Materials (BOM), purchase requisitions, and material requests.
Good command of English (both written and verbal), sufficient for preparing technical reports, specifications, and effective cross-functional communication.
