The purpose of this position:
The Control Room Operator is responsible for performing their duties in controlling Precious Metal Refinery area. Processing equipment through the control system (generally referred as DCS) in achieving predetermined production targets in a safe manner (safe production). The Control Room Operator turns on, turns off, monitors the performance, and sets the parameters of the processing equipment circuit through the system.
The key duties and responsibilities of this position:
Occupational Safety and Environmental Aspects
Comply with all OHS and environmental management regulations within the work area, including the use of prescribed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Implement all directed OHS programs.
Conduct a Fatal Risk Management process as hazard mitigation, especially the implementation of standardized hazard controls at work.
Follow Safety talk and Environmental directions before starting work or whenever given by Team Leader or Supervisor.
Able to stop a job if there are hazards that have not been properly controlled, adding appropriate controls, before starting the job again Disciplined by complying with established standard work procedures (SOPs).
Able to communicate shortcomings of OHS matters found, including evaluation of standard work procedures, unsafe conditions, and unsafe behavior.
Disciplined in maintaining the cleanliness of the work area.
Inspect safety equipment in their area (fire extinguishers, emergency lights, handrails, etc.)
Operational
Perform initial checks on both operating and non-operating equipment in the plant.
Carry out work in accordance with the established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Control equipment and toolsets through the Control Room using the Siemens PCS7 process control system.
Coordinate effectively with Control Room Operators in other areas of the plant, working closely with field Supervisors, Operators, and team members from other departments (Maintenance, Process Automation, etc.) to ensure equipment is operated safely and within appropriate parameter constraints.
Monitor various relevant process and equipment parameters through graphs and trends and provide clear information to field operators if any parameter is outside the safe or optimal range.
Fully support recovery efforts during emergencies and control tools in emergency situations with agility in reacting and performing multiple actions simultaneously.
Participate in various operational support activities such as pre-shift meetings and Shutdown/Startup operations.
Support daily maintenance activities by maintaining a safe and tidy work area and reporting any damage, incidents, or unsafe conditions.
Oversee production achievements in terms of both quantity and product quality, and effectively communicate with the field operational team, superiors, engineers, and management.
Fill out the Log Sheet with operational data records of plant equipment in the field, including work activity reports (downtime, abnormalities, etc.).
Proactively report process and equipment conditions to superiors.
Apply systematic problem-solving techniques for complex operations.

Time management: This position demands effective time management to ensure fulfillment of various commitments, and task activities, and works a shift schedule.
Effective communication in both Bahasa Indonesia and English, this role requires effective interactions with various levels of internal and external stakeholders and different backgrounds,
This position requires good fatigue management such as working in cold room (DCS room) and manage body position when working in front of DCS screen for long time (8 12 hours)
Able to analyze situations quickly and accurately, then make appropriate decisions to secure the safety of field workers and equipment.
Demonstrates a strong understanding of a broad and diverse range of assigned operational areas.
The background, education, and work experience needed to succeed in this job are:
Education, certification, and experience
High school diploma or equivalent with experience working as a Control Room Operator in the mineral, metal, or chemical processing industry for more than 3 years (Junior) or 8 years (Senior).
Experience in operating Computer, DCS via Siemens PCS7 system.
Fair in English.
Experience in the safe practices, especially in operating tools and a series of tools through the Control Room for this area:
Precious Metal Refinery: De-Copperization, Slime Handling, Wet Chlorination, Gold SX, PGM IX, Se/Te Reduction, HMP, De-Chlorination, Silver Leaching, Silver Precipitation, Silver Reduction, Lead Leaching, SSL.
In several designated area it is required to have experience working in hot and humid conditions, using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
