This recruitment relates to Barings' Madrid office, which opened in 2015 and has a current portfolio under management of living, logistics, offices and retail.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Analyst to join our Real Estate team in Madrid. The Analyst will play a key role in supporting investment decision-making, portfolio management, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate is passionate about real estate, demonstrates strong analytical and quantitative skills, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Analysis & Underwriting

Conduct financial modelling and cash flow analysis for potential acquisitions, developments, and dispositions.

Prepare sensitivity analyses and scenario testing to evaluate investment performance under varying assumptions.

Support due diligence processes, including market research, property inspections, and third-party report reviews.

Market Research

Perform macroeconomic, industry, and property-specific research to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.

Track key performance indicators across target markets and sectors.

Portfolio Management

Assist in monitoring existing assets, including financial performance, leasing activity, and capital projects.

Support the preparation of regular reporting for the different investment vehicles, including financial metrics, portfolio updates and valuations.

Transaction Support

Assist in coordinating with external advisors, brokers, legal counsel, and lenders.

Support the investment team in preparing investment committee materials and presentations.

Financial & Strategic Support

Maintain and enhance financial models and valuation tools.

Support fundraising and investor relations with data analysis, reporting, and presentation materials.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Architecture, Business Administration, or a related field.

1–3 years of experience in real estate private equity, investment banking, consulting, or related fields.

Strong financial modelling and analytical skills (Excel proficiency required; Argus; Anaplan or similar software preferred).

Knowledge of real estate valuation, investment metrics (IRR, NPV, cap rates), and capital structures.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail and accuracy.

Team player with strong work ethic, initiative, and problem-solving ability.
