Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled Data Engineer with deep expertise in SQL Server and a strong understanding of insurance data to join our data team. This role will focus on enhancing our data architecture, building scalable ETL pipelines, and supporting analytical and reporting needs through robust data modeling and transformation. The ideal candidate will have experience working with multi-dimensional databases, data ingestion frameworks, and data lineage documentation in a regulated industry.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

• 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry.

• Strong proficiency in SQL Server, including T-SQL, stored procedures, views, indexing and performance tuning.

• Experience with ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Talend) and data ingestion frameworks.

• Familiarity with multi-dimensional databases (e.g., SSAS) and OLAP concepts.

• Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and data governance.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Strong communication and documentation abilities.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with insurance data domains (e.g., claims, policies, underwriting).

• Knowledge of Azure SQL.

• Familiarity with Power BI.

• Understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) related to data handling.
