Mechanic
Reports to: Equipment Shop Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Hours: As dictated
Job Location: 2040 Alum Creek Drive, Columbus, OH 43207; various job sites as assigned

Responsibilities:
Travels to assigned job sites in a company-assigned pick-up or service truck to perform equipment diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance
Troubleshoots issues quickly to minimize downtime and ensure continuous project productivity
Performs emergency repairs in adverse weather conditions or challenging environments
Maintains communication across the team to coordinate service timelines and prioritize needs
Performs scheduled preventive maintenance, component rebuilds, and major repairs on equipment in the shop
Uses specialized tools, diagnostic software, and repair manuals to complete work accurately and efficiently
Maintains a clean, organized, and safe working environment
Assists in equipment inspections before deployment to ensure readiness for the field
Documents all repairs, maintenance actions, and parts used in accordance with company procedures
Collaborates with and supports the team as needed to diagnose and repair equipment
Knows and adheres to all Company policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The Mechanic must be physically capable of performing tasks that require standing, walking, bending, climbing, and kneeling for extended periods. They must be able to lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly. The role involves working in a variety of environmental conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, noise, and potentially hazardous fumes or chemicals. Mechanics must be able to operate hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and heavy machinery safely and efficiently. Physical stamina is essential for performing repetitive and strenuous tasks throughout the workday. Additionally, the position requires sufficient hand dexterity, as well as adequate vision and hearing, to perform precise mechanical and diagnostic work.
Qualifications
A CDL will be considered preferred, but is not required
Must be willing to obtain a CDL within six months of the date of hire
Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening. (George J. Igel & Co., Inc. is a BWC Drug-Free Workplace and tests for marijuana)
