Job Overview:

In support of The Ohio State University’s Research and Innovation activities, the Enterprise Applications Management Analyst will work within the Enterprise for Research, Innovation, and Knowledge (ERIK) for the Office of Research Information Systems group (ORIS).

ORIS implements and supports applications that facilitate the business processes of all the units within ERIK. The selected candidate will manage and enhance research administration systems to improve reportability, reliability, consistency, and efficiency within all ERIK administrative units. Examples of these units include (but are not limited to): University Lab Animal Resources, Office of Responsible Research Practices, Office of Research Compliance, Office of Sponsored Programs, Office of Secure Research, ERIK Human Resources, ERIK Business Office, ERIK Help Desk and supported research centers.

General responsibilities include evaluating existing systems and processes; providing recommendations for process and technical changes; implementing business processes when able to do so using existing software in a no-code or low-code environment; establishing and managing client relationships; developing requirements and processes for leading and supporting the implementation of these changes.

As business processes are implemented or improved, the selected candidate is responsible for assisting the process owner in the transitory process including providing support and guidance to staff members, investigating process implementation errors, data corrections, compliance reporting, and temporary workarounds to the suggested process as appropriate.

The Enterprise Application Analyst will interface with local and university operations and work with development teams to drive a culture of continuous quality improvement for the systems they oversee.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or other relevant technical experience.

Two years of relevant experience working and communicating with individuals with varying skill sets.

Demonstrates exceptional technical problem-solving skills.

Familiarity with the complexities of running enterprise systems.

Strong math and logic skills for implementing complex business processes.

Working knowledge of modern development and application integration techniques and practices.

Experience in using commercially available or open-source technologies to create business solutions.

Desired Education and Experience:

Experience with business process technologies such as Microsoft Power Platform.

Experience with DocuSign.

Experience with ticketing systems such as osTicket.

Working knowledge of collaboration tools such as Teams and SharePoint.

Working knowledge of Smartsheet, Qualtrics, Tableau, Splunk, Workday or other billing systems, inventory management or animal census systems.

Experience implementing business processes from scratch.

Experience with retrofitting functionality into existing systems.

Experience establishing and using metrics to drive business process and workplace cultural changes.

There are multiple openings available with this posting.

The target hiring range for this position is $70,100 - $91,600, annually. The salary offer for this position will fall within this range based on the candidate's qualifications, internal equity, and the unit's available budget, which will be the primary determining factor.

This position offers the option for a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for a combination of on-site and remote work.
