At General Headquarters under general direction of CAD Administrator, maintain CAD databases & train highway patrol dispatchers & sworn officers in use of CAD equipment:
• Serves as a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) Specialist;
• Coordinates, reviews, & administers the CAD databases (e.g., update personnel security level, towing, radio IDs, vehicle, incident, disposition & other related data-bases with CAD) to maintain a dispatching system;
• Coordinates & implements training on approved courses;
• Creates training materials & provides instruction to dispatch personnel & sworn officers on CAD & Mobile Computer Terminals (MCT) related topics & trains new CAD Specialists as requested;
• Performs CAD on-call duties during off hours; Troubleshoots CAD system mal-functions & acts as liaison with Multi-Agency Radio Communication System (MARCS) Help Desk;
• Uses ServiceNow to identify malfunctions & associate possible solutions;
• Acts as a resource for field personnel for CAD; Supports field users on functions of CAD, evaluates suggested changes & implements changes when approved;
• Attends applicable MARCS meetings with other agencies & outside vendors;
• Maintains PremierOne mapping feature of CAD; Updates & administers map features including color scheme, icons, displays, Commonplace entries;
• Coordinates the collection, editing, submission & verification of GeoFile changes & additions within the MARCS CAD system; Collects data from field posts (i.e., street names, map locations) & edit changes to fit GeoFile parameters;
• Writes, reviews, & updates monthly roll call knowledge exercises & policies for non-sworn personnel;
• Writes, reviews, & updates manuals & procedures for dispatching special details such as the State Fair & the All-American Quarter Horse Congress;
• Writes & disperses information statewide to both sworn & non-sworn personnel;
• Reviews, writes, & recommends policy updates &/or changes as needed;
• Creates & reviews statewide programmatic manuals for Division operations;
• Creates & coordinates instructional documents & support for scheduled & unscheduled MARCS CAD & radio outages;
• Acts as a resource for field supervision by retrieving needed information or coordinating retrieval from Ohio MARCS;
• Tests new version(s) of CAD applications & fixes for current CAD application problems;
• Conducts audits of CAD & MCT data to ensure compliance & adherence to OSHP policies & procedures;
• Acts as an external resource to Ohio MARCS, Motorola, other agencies using MARCS, & an internal resource for State Highway Patrol Infrastructure Specialist & Electronic Technicians which includes use of ServiceNow (e.g., Help Desk application, process & identify suggestions for possible fixes) in conjunction with internal & external resources mentioned above;
• Acts as a resource for dispatch personnel in dispatching officers & equipment use of the Law Enforcement Automated Data System (LEADS), MARCS CAD, MARCS Radios, & Telecommunication Devices for the Deaf (TDD);
• Performs other duties as assigned.
12 mos. exp. in operation of computer aided dispatch software; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in preparing informational or instructional materials/programs; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in public speaking or effective communication skills.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
Note: Applicants will be required to demonstrate proficiency in CAD operations by passing department administered test.
