SAP BO / Web Intelligence Developer

Role Overview:

The role involves translating business users’ requirements into technical design and delivering high-quality solutions using SAP BusinessObjects (BO) Web Intelligence 4.3. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in BO Universe design, SQL optimization, and end-to-end reporting, along with the ability to support testing, troubleshooting, and user training.

Key Responsibilities:

Convert business requirements into effective technical designs and reporting solutions.

Design, develop, and optimize complex BO Universes using Information Design Tool (IDT).

Identify, model, and activate business data into defined data models/universes.

Write and optimize complex SQL queries, procedures, and functions with a focus on performance tuning.

Implement advanced BO features such as Derived Tables, Aggregate Awareness, Joins, and Contexts.

Provide creative solutions at the reporting layer when upstream data cannot be modified to meet requirements.

Develop, document, and execute test cases; record results to ensure quality and accuracy of deliverables.

Support various testing phases, including integration testing and UAT, and resolve reported defects to ensure smooth production rollout.

Investigate system errors, initiate amendments, and retest to ensure system stability and efficiency.

Conduct user training sessions and provide coaching to internal team members as needed.

Required Skills & Experience:

Extensive knowledge of SAP Web Intelligence 4.3 and BO Universe design (IDT).

Strong SQL expertise, including writing and optimizing complex queries.

Hands-on experience with BO reporting features: Derived Tables, Aggregate Awareness, Joins, Contexts.

Ability to deliver reporting solutions when upstream data cannot be modified.

Solid experience in testing, defect resolution, and production support.

Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Experience in user training and team coaching (advantageous). Skills : SAP Web Intelligence 4.3 And BO Universe Design (IDT)..
