Salary & Package: £37,000–£38,000 base + tronc (£4,000–£6,000 per year) = Package up to £44,000

The Opportunity
We’re looking for a talented Sous Chef to join the team at a prestigious award-winning gastro pub with eight bespoke bedrooms, a stylish bar, and a highly regarded restaurant. Recognised with 2 AA Rosettes, featured in the Michelin Guide, and proudly holding a 5 Star EHO rating, the pub is now pushing towards a Bib Gourmand.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a kitchen that cooks 90% of everything in-house, with a calm and supportive Head Chef who believes in training, teamwork, and learning from mistakes. Your Role as Sous Chef
Support the Head Chef in leading the kitchen and daily operations
Deliver exceptional food quality and presentation across all sections
Mentor and develop junior chefs, creating a culture of learning and growth
Contribute to seasonal menu development and specials, with input into creative ideas
Manage ordering, suppliers, stock, and kitchen organisation
Ensure food safety and hygiene standards remain at the highest level
Lead by example, setting the tone for teamwork, calmness, and consistency
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience as a Sous Chef or ambitious Junior Sous ready to step up
Strong understanding of fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced produce
Passion for creativity in the kitchen, with precision and consistency
Calm, positive, and professional under pressure
A true team player who supports colleagues and drives standards forward
