The mission of the Secretary of State's office is to serve the public by meeting its legal responsibilities of collecting, securing and communicating information that enhances commerce, ensures the integrity of Louisiana's elections and preserves, presents and makes accessible government information essential to Louisiana's operations and its recorded history.
The Elections Division of the Louisiana Secretary of State is seeking an Election Program Specialist A, B or C in the Services & Business Section. This section assists in the planning and conducting all regularly scheduled elections and all special elections in the state.
AN IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES:
Communicating Effectively: The ability to relay information correctly and appropriately to connect people and ideas.
Demonstrating Accountability: The ability to accept ownership for your actions, behaviors, performance, and decisions.
Managing Resources: The ability to ensure resources such as time, money, and people are utilized appropriately to result in maximum business value.
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in election program activities or administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
NOTE:
Election program activities include the following job functions: records management, voter registration, regulation or administration of the election process, forms management or design, or the maintenance, programming, or repair of election equipment.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Assists in planning and conducting elections.
Assist/Monitor and provide technical assistance for the ERIN system.
Work with the Registrar of Voters offices across the state.
Assist in election reports and publications.
Participate in Election Day by answering phone calls, coordinating supplies other duties as needed.
Assist in training for the Elections annual Elections Academy.Position-Specific Details:
