Licensed Practical Nurse Infusion Center Status: Flex Full Time Shifts: Typically, 7am - 3:30pm Responsibilities: * The LPN provides safe, patient-centered care as a collaborative member of the health-care team.
Using sound nursing judgment and focused assessment, the LPN plans, implements, and evaluates care while practicing within UPMC policies, LPN Practice Guidelines, and the State Practice Act.
* Clinical Practice: Delivers holistic care, sets daily patient goals, documents thoroughly, and communicates changes promptly.
Seeks guidance when patient needs exceed LPN scope, knowledge, or skill, or when a condition deteriorates.
Requests instruction and supervision for new or unfamiliar procedures.
* Patient & Family Support: Builds healing relationships, provides clear education for care transitions, and ensures a compassionate, patient-focused experience.
* Teamwork & Development: Collaborates across disciplines to achieve quality outcomes, mentors new LPNs and support staff, and actively participates in unit activities and process-improvement initiatives.
* Professional Growth: Seeks feedback, pursues continuous learning, and supports organizational goals for safety, quality, and patient satisfaction.
* Workplace Standards: Demonstrates cultural sensitivity, maintains a healthy work-life balance, models safe work habits, and reports safety hazards.

Qualifications: * Clinical Skills: * Knowledge of growth and development principles across the life span.
* Ability to assess patient status, interpret data, and meet age-specific care needs per department policy.
* Quality & Collaboration: Identify process-improvement opportunities and partner with the health care team, patients, and families to achieve optimal outcomes.
* Interpersonal Skills: Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with leaders, providers, staff, patients, and families.
* Work Environment: Effectively manage multiple priorities in a complex setting and operate specialized equipment.
* Physical Requirements: Mobility, visual/manual dexterity, and stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and patient positioning.
* Technical Skills: Proficient in using electronic health records and related computer applications.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: * Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year of hire/transfer * Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) * Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) * NIH Stroke Scale (NIH) within 6 months of hire/transfer.
* Act 34 * Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state.
Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
