Job SummaryAs a Structural Analysis Engineer at BPMI, you will perform routine technical functions to support company operations in areas including, but not limited to engineering evaluations, analyses, and engineering decisions for all aspects of assigned tasks.
Cognizant areas may include planning, designing, modeling, analyzing, documenting, and testing of nuclear, mechanical, structural, or electrical components, systems, equipment, and facilities.
Work may include chemical or materials evaluations, design reviews, operations support, safety analysis, engineering methods and software development, and analysis of vendor's procedures and systems for quality control or manufacturing surveillance.This position requires knowledge and application of engineering techniques, principles, and practices employed in the area of assignment.
Individual is responsible to maintain the technical excellence of the Company within the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.Essential Duties: Perform delegated engineering responsibility that supports fleet, field, technology, analysis, manufacturing, facilities, testing, and operations activities.
Assist in the study, design, application, analyses, test, or the preparation of specifications and processes for systems, materials, equipment, or components relating to a limited aspect of the group's function.
Support other engineers who are performing related work.
Prepare project plans to accomplish assigned work.
Identify and complete performance measures, including post job assessments.
Meet project and scheduler requirements.
Communicate status on a periodic basis to immediate management.
Perform analytical evaluations which may include the application of existing computer models.
Develop an understanding of component and system interrelationships.
Assist in the preparation of technical manuals, reports, or procedures in accordance with NR program quality standards.
Assist in design, development, execution, and evaluation of engineering research and design projects.
Evaluate vendor prepared designs and supporting documents; participate in technical discussions with suppliers.
Prepare letters to the Government providing technical information, recommending approval of technical actions, or obtaining approval of funding.
Monitor supplier performance and participate in production/quality surveillance and production reviews at supplier plants and report results.

\nMinimum Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
Requires a security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status.
The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is required.
\nPreferred Job Requirements: Minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred for newer college graduates.
