Job Description

As a Welder, you will work under the direction of a supervisor to fabricate, assemble, and repair heavy steel products. This role requires following blueprints, diagrams, and work orders to ensure quality and accuracy. Welds range from simple tacks to more complex work, depending on the project.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Weld and assemble steel components according to blueprints, layouts, or instructions.

Operate shop equipment such as grinders, torches, hoists, and hand tools.

Read and interpret job orders, prints, and welding symbols.

Maintain quality, accuracy, and production standards.

Follow safety guidelines and keep a clean work area.

Work independently and as part of a team to meet production goals.

Maintain level of work performance in accordance with PIC standards.

Perform or assist in other assigned duties as qualified.

Ensure all work meets the highest quality and safety standards.

Good Attendance is requisite for being able to perform the essential functions of this job.

Qualifications:

Must be dependable, open to changes and new ideas, adaptable to new situations and challenges, and use time wisely.

The ability to satisfactorily work alone, and willingness to work with others respectfully and professionally in a team environment, with reasonable instructions, training, and supervision.

The ability to accomplish a task with concern for all the areas involved, including the ability to notice inconsistencies/faults in parts, equipment, or production processes to prevent faulty products leaving the facility.

Intermediate to advanced blueprint reading and layout capabilities.

Ability to manage work independently with minimal direction.

Education and/or Experience:

High School diploma or GED required.

Welding experience required. Must be able to pass PIC Trailer weld test.

Trailer assembly and/or heavy equipment manufacturing experience preferred.

Vocational or post-secondary education and welding certification(s) desired.
