CFO for CPA & Wealth Management Firm – Offices in Shelton, Bethel, Hamden, Ridgefield & Norwalk

The Innovative CPA Group (ICG) is one of the fastest growing firms in Connecticut and we are looking for a CFO to join our team in our Shelton, CT headquarters. Essential Responsibilities:

Prepare and present monthly financial reports including monthly profit and loss by location, forecast vs. budget by location, etc.

Assess and evaluate financial performance of firm with regard to long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts. Provide insight and recommendations to both short-term and long-term growth plan of organization.

Lead financial due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, including in-depth review and analysis of target company financial statements, key performance metrics, and risk exposures.

Supervise the accounting department to ensure the proper functioning of all systems, databases, and financial software. Provide regular maintenance and backup of all accounting systems and supervise company financial staff.

Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly, and annual financial statements.

Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all local, state, and federal tax returns.

Oversee the month-end close process, constantly reviewing procedures while eliminating inefficiencies.

Manage cash flow planning process and ensure funds availability.

Maintain outstanding banking relationships and strategic alliances with vendors and business partners.

Oversee weekly cash management and AP Department, approve large payables, sign checks, authorize large wires and ACHs.

Supervise Accounts Receivable management and provide guidance relating to the collection process.

Skills and Qualifications

At least eight (8) years of CFO experience

Prior experience of managing employees

Expert with QuickBooks Online

Outstanding communication and presentation skills

Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence, and executive presence – ability to motivate staff

Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills

Significant experience working with external auditors, internal controls and compliance-related issues
