Material Coordinator / Purchasing Manager
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive individual to serve as our Material Coordinator / Purchasing Manager, responsible for managing the procurement and distribution of electrical materials, equipment, and supplies. This role requires close coordination with suppliers, project managers, and field electricians to ensure timely and accurate delivery of project resources. Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills are essential to meet company-wide operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Purchasing Manager Duties:
Oversee purchasing and rental of materials and equipment through vendor coordination.
Maintain and utilize purchasing software to track vendor activity and procurement needs.
Manage employee(s) as required within the purchasing department.
Request and manage quotes, pricing, and vendor negotiations.
Expedite urgent materials and secure necessary approvals.
Resolve outstanding issues and follow up on open orders.
Continuously source the most cost-effective and efficient suppliers.
Material Coordinator Duties:
Pull and prepare in-house electrical materials based on daily job orders.
Identify and communicate any out-of-stock or non-stocked materials needed for purchase.
Load trucks with materials and equipment for daily jobsite deliveries.
Create delivery schedules and routes for pickups and deliveries.
Deliver and pick up materials, equipment, and supplies to/from jobsites as needed.
Confirm and document delivery completion with jobsite personnel.
Return unused or excess materials from jobsites to the warehouse.
Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle and warehouse environment.
Qualifications & Skills
Must be 21 years of age or older with a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities for business correspondence.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and business communications.
Proven ability to handle sensitive inquiries with professionalism.
Prior experience in purchasing and procurement preferred.
Familiarity with electrical materials, equipment, and related services preferred.
Customer service experience working with both internal teams and external vendors.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.Company Description
