Building Cleaner

Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and hardworking individual to join our team as a Full-Time Cleaner for an apartment building. This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of the building's common areas as well as performing cleaning services in vacant apartment units between tenant move-outs and move-ins.

Key Responsibilities:

Common Area Cleaning:

Clean and sanitize lobbies, hallways, elevators, stairwells, laundry rooms, and other shared spaces.

Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust all surfaces regularly.

Empty trash and recycling bins; replace liners as needed.

Clean entryway glass doors and interior windows.

Monitor and restock cleaning supplies in shared facility areas (e.g., bathrooms, laundry rooms).

Report maintenance issues (e.g., broken fixtures, lights, damage) to the building supervisor.

Apartment Unit Turnover Cleaning:

Perform deep cleaning of vacant apartment units, including:

Kitchens: appliances (inside/out), cabinets, countertops, sinks.

Bathrooms: tubs, toilets, sinks, mirrors, fixtures.

Living areas and bedrooms: floors, walls, closets, windows, and baseboards.

Remove debris or leftover tenant items as needed.

Ensure the unit meets cleanliness standards prior to new tenant move-in.

Qualifications:

Previous professional cleaning or janitorial experience preferred.

Strong attention to detail and time management skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physically able to perform tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
