Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Microbiology Lab Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will perform basic laboratory preparation work and contribute to a variety of microbiological tests. This role offers the opportunity to grow within a state-of-the-art Innovation Center.

Responsibilities

Perform basic laboratory preparation work including making solutions of peptone and buffers for swabs.

Engage in plating and streaking techniques.

Pick up supplies and samples from the plant as needed.

Conduct various tests such as pipetting, preparing agar with hot plates, autoclaving, sterilization, sanitation, and conducting plate counts for yeast, mold, and lactic bacteria.

Enter data accurately into Excel.

Essential Skills

BA/BS in Microbiology, Biology or related science field.

Understanding of aseptic techniques and plating and streaking techniques.

Experience in a laboratory setting with skills in pH and viscosity measurement.

Must have strong microbiology skills from schooling or some industry experience.

Work Environment

The position is based in the micro lab, which is a small lab with few desk spaces. The candidate will work in a team of three, assisting with various tasks as needed. The dress code is business casual and the work schedule is 1st shift, Monday to Friday. This is a shorter-term contract position with a small chance of extension or conversion into a longer-term opportunity. The work environment is a beautiful, state-of-the-art Innovation Center that offers long-term growth opportunities. Based in Columbus, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr.
