Purpose of Role: The Service Technician is responsible for the on-site installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of security, audio/visual, structured cabling, fire & life safety, and networking systems.
This role ensures reliable, code-compliant, and high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities · Installation & Setup: Install and configure CCTV, access control, AV, fire alarms, and networking hardware.
· Service & Troubleshooting: Respond to service calls, diagnose and repair issues.
· Preventative Maintenance: Conduct inspections, test fire/life safety systems, update firmware/software.
· Customer Interaction & Support: Communicate clearly, provide basic training, and maintain professionalism.
· Safety & Compliance: Adhere to NEC, NFPA, BICSI, OSHA standards.
· Documentation & Reporting: Complete service tickets, reports, and logs.
· Tools, Equipment & Inventory: Maintain tools, report usage, and assist with inventory.
Skills & Qualifications · Hands-on experience with low-voltage systems (security, AV, fire alarm, cabling). · Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manuals.
· Proficiency with tools and test equipment.
· Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
· Excellent communication and customer service skills.
· Valid driver’s license and ability to travel
