Commercial Construction Estimator - remote

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced general commercial construction project estimator who can enthusiastically engage clients and subcontractors to gather trade proposals and create all-inclusive competitive bids for our prospective projects. Our ideal candidate will be goal, task and detail oriented, flexible, sociable, and able to cultivate existing and new client and subcontractor relationships. We commonly bid restaurants, retail stores, and strip center type projects. Some are new construction, others are tenant improvements of existing space. This role is 100% remote.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to determine project requirements and scope

Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors in accordance with project specifications and industry standards

Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and ensure accurate estimates

Conduct comprehensive quantity take-offs and material pricing assessments to determine project costs

Identify potential risks, challenges, and opportunities that may impact project costs and timelines

Prepare and present clear and concise cost proposals to clients, highlighting key cost drivers and justifying estimates

Source and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors for competitive pricing

REQUIREMENTS

Strong communication and organizational skills to constantly communicate with professionalism and in a clear and concise manner with suppliers, subcontractors, and other business partners.

Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project documents and drawings

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in estimating project costs

Minimum of 10 years of experience with commercial projects in the construction industry
