Job Title: Junior Data Scientist

About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Data Scientist to join our growing data team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in PDF data extraction, hands-on exposure to AWS, and a strong interest or working knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs). You will contribute to building intelligent data workflows and support document processing initiatives that drive business insights.
Key Responsibilities
Design and maintain pipelines for extracting structured data from PDF documents using tools like PyPDF2, PDFMiner, or similar
Assist in cleaning, transforming, and analyzing data for reporting and modeling
Collaborate with engineering and product teams to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights
Work with AWS services (e.g., S3, Lambda, EC2, Glue) to deploy and manage data workflows
Apply LLMs for tasks such as document classification, summarization, and field mapping
Document processes and contribute to improving data extraction accuracy and efficiency
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field
Experience with PDF data extraction tools and techniques
Hands-on experience with AWS services (S3, Lambda, EC2, etc.)
Familiarity with Large Language Models (e.g., OpenAI, Hugging Face Transformers)
Proficiency in Python and data manipulation libraries (Pandas, NumPy)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective communication and collaboration abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with OCR tools (e.g., Tesseract, Amazon Textract)
Exposure to NLP techniques and model fine-tuning
Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD workflows
Experience working in agile or fast-paced environments
