Assistant Project Manager job description
Assistant Project Manager responsibilities include working closely with our Project Manager Lead and leadership team to prepare comprehensive action plans, including resources and time frames for projects. The Assistant Project Manager will perform various coordinating tasks, like schedule and risk management, along with administrative duties, like maintaining project documentation, overseeing customer projects, production scheduling, customer communication and other related projects. Assistant Project Manager should have excellent time management and communication skills, as they will collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver results on deadlines.
Ultimately, the Assistant Project Manager’s duties are to ensure that assigned projects are completed on time, within budget and meet high quality standards while working with other team members and other departments working directly under the Project Management Lead.
Assistant Project Manager responsibilities:
Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment and information
Break projects into doable actions and set time frames
Liaise with clients to identify and define requirements, scope and objectives
Make sure that clients’ needs are met as projects evolve
Oversee customer project schedule and timelines as assigned by the Project Manager Lead
Oversee project procurement management related activities
Monitor project progress and handle any issues that arise
Work with the Project Manager Lead and leadership team to eliminate blockers
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports
Ensure standards and requirements
Complete customer contract and risk management review activities
Communicate customer flow down requirements
Work closely with suppliers and suppler schedules
Coordinate productions schedules in work centers
Assistant Project Manager skills & proficiencies:
Proven work experience as a Assistant Project Manager or similar role
Experience in assistant project management, from conception to delivery
Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
Strong client-facing and teamwork skills
Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Experience working in a manufacturing environment a plus
