We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Electrical Engineering Intern to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the design and development of electrical/electronic systems and gain hands-on experience in various aspects of electrical engineering. Essential Functions:
Assist in the design and development of electrical/electronic design concepts under the guidance of experienced engineers.
Work from specification requirements, design concepts, and inputs from customers and other engineers.
Support the implementation of design concepts into working prototypes and finished products.
Support other engineers in design of mixed signal Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs)
Participate in the testing and troubleshooting of Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs).
Assist in the development of test methods and associated test equipment for vetting CCAs.
Review Printed Wiring Board (PWB) layouts and provide support to facilitate board fabrication and assembly.
Communicate with team members to understand project requirements and provide updates on progress.
Assist in preparing and presenting internal trade studies and design reviews to demonstrate that designs meet specifications and requirements.
Gain familiarity with CAD tools such as Mentor Graphics Xpedition, LTSpice, Matlab, MathCAD or other CAD tools as needed.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited institution
Strong interest in electrical/electronic design and development.
Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles and concepts.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Familiarity with MS Office products.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Basic knowledge of mixed signal Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) design and development.
Understanding of schematic capture and PCB layout.
Experience with programming languages such as C or C++ or LabVIEW is a plus.
Familiarity with design analysis and establishing circuit-level tests.
Basic knowledge of FPGA development is a plus.
