We're seeking a Staffing Coordinator (with temporary HR responsibilities) to join our team. In this vital role, you'll ensure that our nursing department is properly staffed so residents receive the highest quality care-while also supporting key HR and payroll functions. What You'll Do
Staffing & Scheduling
Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure safe, consistent coverage for resident care.
Respond to call-ins and adjust schedules in collaboration with the Chief Nursing Officer.
Serve as the go-to contact for staff regarding scheduling and staffing needs.
Partner with nursing and leadership teams to address challenges and improve staffing processes.
Human Resources (Temporary Function)
Maintain complete and compliant employee personnel files.
Conduct background checks, onboarding, and new hire processing (including OBRAs per WA regulations).
Enter payroll and benefits changes into company systems; process payroll accurately and on time.
Support open enrollment, benefits questions, and employee relations practices.
Track attendance, tardiness, and performance review completion.
Report on-site injuries to workers' compensation carriers.
Collaborate with Cascadia's Home Office HR team to implement initiatives and ensure compliance.
Additional Responsibilities
Assist with recruitment and interview coordination as needed.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all HR-related matters.
Be available on-call during the week for urgent staffing needs.
What You Bring
High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's in HR or Business Administration preferred.
At least 6 months of HR or payroll experience required; healthcare or long-term care experience strongly preferred.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to remain professional, neutral, and confidential in sensitive situations.
Proficiency with computers, scheduling systems, and HR/payroll software.
A people-first mindset and commitment to supporting both staff and residents.
