ABOUT THE POSITION
School District 49 is actively seeking a Staffing Specialist within the Human Resources Department. The Staffing Specialist position is primarily responsible for processing transactions related to employment such as recruiting, onboarding, transfers, pay adjustments, and separations. This positions will also be responsible for entering and maintaining data in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and personnel files with a focus on the extra-curricular workforce segments, while serving as backup support to the educational support workforce segment. As a member of the HR team, the Staffing Specialist provides support to all HR functions as needed. These duties may consist of filing, covering the front desk, facilitating new hire orientation, and tracking pertinent HR data and metrics. This position is responsible for collecting, organizing, and reviewing data necessary for the preparation of payroll reports (e.g. leave and attendence).
A successful candidate for this position should possess an advanced understanding of basic math and calculation skills with the ability to process complex pay situations. In addition, this person should have meticulous attention to detail, exceptional time management, ability to track dates and deadlines and provide needed follow-up. Lastly, this person should have excellent oral and written communication skills, superb interpersonal relations skills, strong multi-tasking, prioritization and organization skills, in addition to critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills.
Calendar: Full year - 261 days
Reports to: Human Resources Manager
Hourly rate of pay: Starting pay is $23.32 per hour to $30.40 per hour depending upon previous relative working experience. Actual starting pay rate will be determined after a review of the work experience provided on the job application=.
