The Sexton business fits within the ITW Drawform Division and is a market leader in the manufacture of high-pressure aerosol cans and after-market filter shells and is seeking a Production Team Lead for the night shift located at the Decatur, AL facility.

Job Description Team leaders are responsible for the performance of the production floor on a specified shift including quality, downtime and work efficiency.

Essential Functions: * Continuously monitoring standard operating procedures and constant communication with team members.

* Ensure and verify that production goals are being met and informing the Production Manager of any interruptions in the production process.

* Report at least 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the shift to ensure communication has been established and to set forth labor/production guidelines before the arrival of shift personnel.

* Close out shift by ensuring communication has been established with incoming Team Leaders and to verify that shift performance has been documented accurately and completely.

This may require Team Leads to remain after scheduled end of shift.

* Promote and drive employee involvement in projects and initiatives.

* Lead production team's adherence to Environmental/Health/Safety initiatives, policies and procedures * Facilitate changeovers and other line specific projects * Lead Housekeeping throughout plant facility * Manage production/downtime/scrap reporting * Managing use of visual displays and controls * Support employee communication and documentation processes * Support management of staffing, personnel performance and attendance * Support production process improvement * Facilitate Shift Safety Team meetings * Promote and uphold 5-S and other Lean production principles.

* Wear standard personal protective equipment (PPE) AT ALL TIMES.

Qualifications * The position requires a High School diploma or GED required.

Three years of experience in a supervisory capacity preferred.

* Proven experience in production and personnel management, systems implementation, and continuous improvement.

* Hands-on skills, proven management ability and sound work ethic are prerequisites.

* Must have excellent performance and attendance records.

* Must have demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with other team members, including supervisors as well as other managers.

* Must be resourceful, show initiative and be results driven.

* Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical equipment, processes, and systems.

* Basic understanding of computers, Microsoft Word and Microsoft EXCEL.

* Substantial background in understanding and upholding company procedures and processes are required.

Must be a company champion.

* Ability to work independently, manage projects and complete assignments in a timely manner.

* Self-starter; works with minimal supervision; capable of offering up and making decisions.

* Effective oral, interpersonal and written communication skills.

* Team-player with aptitude to learn the ITW culture and work within a fast-paced environment.

* Ability to maintain keen vision and mental awareness while practicing careful attention to detail.

* Ability to collaborate with team members to support troubleshooting, problem solving, root cause analysis, and related process improvement activities.
