Transportation Engineer 1/Bridge Rating & Analysis Engineer, PN

What you will be doing: * Overload Permit Analysis * Analyze overload permit applications under supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer.

* Review analysis results and recommend safe travel routes for overload vehicles (e.g., using ProMiles, OHPS). * Interpret complex plans to support ODOT policy implementation and reduce risks * Bridge Design & Load Rating * Perform calculations for bridge design and update standard project specifications and plans.

* Conduct load rating analysis for new and existing bridges and culverts.

* Review and verify bridge rating calculations and computer-generated documents.

* Interpret complex plans to support ODOT policy implementation.

* Maintain historical data for bridges and culverts.

* Prepare technical reports on bridge and culvert load ratings.

* Assist in or conduct training sessions and seminars on bridge rating.

* Prepare bridge posting reports as directed.

Bachelor's degree in engineering; Accepted for Basic Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (EIT exam) by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors.
