Position Description
St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a Employee Relations Manager for our well-established Human Resources Department whose headquarters are located in beautiful St. Augustine, Florida.

Examples of Duties
The ideal Employee Relations Manager candidate must possess St. Johns County's core values of Dedication, Openness, Adaptability, Visionary, Fiscal Responsibility, Integrity, Humility and must work well in a collaborative team environment. Some of the specific tasks include but are not limited to:
Serves as a designated human resources professional responsible for various employee relations matters such as employee complaints, grievances, performance issues, and disciplinary actions, facilitates clear communication, coordination, and ensures that inquiries, updates, and issues are handled efficiently and effectively.
Consults with managers and department heads utilizing knowledge of employment regulations, laws, procedures, and policies in areas of performance issues, disciplinary actions, behavior modification, conflict resolution, harassment and discrimination. Makes recommendations to avoid grievance, complaints or legal repercussions.
Monitors, researches and assists with developing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, local, and state laws (ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, EPA, PDA, NLRA).
Conducts investigations and recommends appropriate course of action for resolution of employee complaints and grievances.
Prepares accurate, technical and highly detailed reports/documentation regarding employee labor relations investigations and grievances, collective bargaining agreements and negotiations, and general employee relations matters.
Proposes the development of training programs for various organizational levels to improve the quality of supervision and employee development.
Manages highly confidential human resources information and exercises sound judgment in handling or working with confidential data and situations.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates for the Employee Relations Manager are encouraged to apply if they meet the following minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resource Management, Labor Relations or a related course of study to the occupational field.
A minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience administering employee relations programs.
PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP is preferred.
Demonstrated expertise in multiple human resources function areas.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license and any other endorsements necessary to legally operate vehicles used while assigned to this position.
Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills to serve others.
Must be able to comprehend, speak and write the English language.
Proficient in Microsoft 365.
