Summary
Responsible for the overall operation of the retail store. Achieve established sales revenue goals by providing affordable merchandise to the public that will generate funds to support the programs and services of Goodwill Columbus.
Essential Job Functions
Oversee all daily operations of the retail store. Manage resources effectively to ensure that all merchandise is rotated and processed according to quality and pricing standards to generate revenue for Goodwill's programs and services.
Meet or exceed all sales budget expectations. Provide new merchandise daily and maintain appealing displays to maximize overall sales.
Supervise a staff of Retail Associates, Retail Supervisors, and Assistant Store Leaders. Hire, train, evaluate and take corrective actions as needed. Plan work schedules to make sure store is appropriately staffed.
Abide by all company policies and procedures.
Provide excellent customer service.
Report, address, and prevent any known potential losses and work to protect GWC Assets.
Ancillary Job Functions
Manage all controllable expenses within the store.
Complete all necessary sales, production, and personnel paperwork.
Provide a safe work environment and communicate safety information to employees to keep workers' compensation claims to a minimum.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
High school or equivalent education.
Three to five years of retail experience including three years of supervisory experience required; experience in the resale field is helpful.
Must have experience in production and operations management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities which may be representative, but not all-inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.
Must possess strong interpersonal skills in dealing with customers and employees
Knowledge of the current resale market to maintain competitiveness.
Ability to perform the basic functions of POS programs, including cash registers and related office equipment.
Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Basic math skills in order to count cash, verify deposits, and calculate various statistics.
Clear verbal communication skills and ability to give and follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to work independently and make responsible decisions.
Ability to use good judgment and think quickly and rationally in difficult or stressful situations.
Work Environment - Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
