The role

As a Principal Configuration Management Engineer, you will support our work on the Patria 6 6 armoured personnel carrier vehicle programme, following our agreement to be Patria’s UK build partner. This is a high-profile opportunity to join a major defence programme, contributing to the delivery of a proven, NATO-backed platform for the British Army.

Day-to-day you’ll be:

Leading the establishment and maintenance of configuration baselines across programmes

Managing engineering change control processes including Change Requests, Notices, and Control Boards

Collaborating with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure consistent CM practices

Maintaining accurate configuration records and ensuring traceability of requirements and design changes

Driving continuous improvement in configuration management processes and tools

This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.

Essential experience of the Principal Configuration Management Engineer

Significant experience in configuration management within defence, aerospace, or automotive sectors

Proficiency with CM tools such as Windchill, Teamcenter, or similar PLM systems

Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams

Experience in lifecycle management and engineering change control

Qualifications for the Principal Configuration Management Engineer

Degree in engineering, information systems, or a related technical discipline

Strong understanding of CM principles and standards (e.g., ISO 10007, DEF STAN 05-57)

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
